Yes, that’s right–we all know it and now Mark Hurst at goodexperience.com has done something about it. I’m talking about computer games, people. Computer games are a major force of innovation driving both new developments in user interfaces, user experiences, and even hardware sales. (When’s the last time someone bought a new graphics card because of Excel?)
So, Mark has started a sub-site for listing recommended “good experience” computer games that are (mostly) free and online. Check it out and tell your boss it’s “research” because, hey, it actually is.

UXD Pioneer Rumored Dead
There aren’t exactly any household names in the Experience Design world, but one of the bigger names is rumored to have died yesterday. Jef Raskin is credited as the creator of the Apple Macintosh and the Canon Cat. He also wrote an influential book, The Humane Interface. It’s on my Recommended Reading list (which I haven’t gotten around to posting here yet.)

My name is Brad Becker and I’m currently a Sr. Product Designer at Macromedia on the Macromedia Consulting team. I was formerly the product designer for Flash, the Flash Player, and FlexBuilder.
